My Choice (10)

 For this blog post, I wanted to talk about TikTok being banned all over the United States. Many people in the government, including the president Joe Biden, are against the use of TikTok around the United States. This is due to TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance, being required by Chinese law to make the app's data available to the Chinese Communist Party. This also means that everyone that uses TikTok is at a risk to being spied upon by the CCP. I remember during Trump's presidency that he tried to ban TikTok in the United States but it did not work out due to some of the courts denying or rejecting his decision. However with Biden, it seems that the lawmakers in charge of carrying out the bipartisan bill will have an effect to the banning of TikTok, and that atleast something will come out of it compared to during Trump's presidency. I also remember that many people that were really into TikTok back in 2019-2020 were crying over the potential ban of TikTok, which would help stop the spying, but also force people to do something else other than use the app. Personally, I do not really care if the app is banned from the United States because it is not that connected to me and I rarely use it. It would also be very distracting for me whenever I would try and do something productive until I start scrolling. A lot of lost time would be due to the fact that I used to endlessly watch content on it without noticing the time. Those who have made a living off of TikTok however may have to find a different type of platform or job in order to keep their followers updated and happy, as only having a presence in tiktok can be dangerous for their reputation and their income. Overall, I would say the banning of tiktok would be horrible for content creators, but great for everyone else. Besides, there are also alternatives to TikTok now that YouTube and Instagram have also implemented their own version of the short videos.

 One thing that I would not buy online would be cars. Although there are websites that show cars that are available online and would make accessibility much more convenient for some, I just do not trust other dealers that have cars for sale, especially at a price that seems too good to be true. Virtual Scavenger Hunt (8)

 For this blog, the Virtual Scavenger Hunt consisted of using different website URL's and having your own work by trying to search up key terms in order to fulfill the objective given on the worksheet. Throughout this process, most of what you had to do ranged from easy searches such as finding three different websites that were specific online dating sites, to finding a specific name of someone who is related to another person in the class. Throughout this, I did not have a hard time finding many of the URL's needed for each question. It was relatively easy to find out and pinpoint which ones needed to go where. However, some were a bit more difficult to find out and to try and get. The questions that were provided were a little too specific. Although it is definitely possible to find out the answers to some of these questions, it would also take a while to find the exact answer since you would need to go through many other different websites to find it. AI (Post 6)

 My thoughts on AI would be on the good side, however I do believe that we should not gloss over the possibilities of how AI can negatively impact us. For the good side, I believe that AI can be beneficial for humanity because it can pretty much automate a lot of what people usually do. The era of automation is starting already, as there are stores that do not have a single employee in it and are completely digital. The only thing that a person might do in the store is check for maintenance to ensure that the orders are going through or if the security cameras are working as they should be. AI can also uncover footage that could be seen as too low quality. For example, there have been YouTube videos that are quite low resolution, such as 144p. At that quality, the viewer would just see a bunch of pixels and blur.
