Virtual Scavenger Hunt (8)

 For this blog, the Virtual Scavenger Hunt consisted of using different website URL's and having your own work by trying to search up key terms in order to fulfill the objective given on the worksheet. Throughout this process, most of what you had to do ranged from easy searches such as finding three different websites that were specific online dating sites, to finding a specific name of someone who is related to another person in the class. Throughout this, I did not have a hard time finding many of the URL's needed for each question. It was relatively easy to find out and pinpoint which ones needed to go where. However, some were a bit more difficult to find out and to try and get. The questions that were provided were a little too specific. Although it is definitely possible to find out the answers to some of these questions, it would also take a while to find the exact answer since you would need to go through many other different websites to find it. Specifically, trying to find a married name of someone's sister was probably the hardest question out of all the other questions given. I had no idea where to look or where to go in order to find a lead. The easiest question out of all the other ones however would be the one that asks for six of the cast members from the 1963 movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" since it only asks to find the actors. Using pages like IMDB would be a big factor into finding a specific URL that included each and every single actor/cast in the movie. Not only that, but it also included information about the movie such as its' rating, what age you should be to watch, how popular it is, who directed it, and many more things related.

Erik Hanberg (Post 5)

 I was in class and heard about Erik Hanberg's presentation on how technology has affected him as not only an author but being a part of many other things such as having a podcast and being able to publish his own books and novel's. He is also considered to be a sort of businessman in a sense as to how his sales could be reviewed. I have also asked him what a balance of being an author feels like. There was an analogy that he described with him being in a cave and also trying to be outside of the cave, which meant that he had to be in the cave and work on his books in order for them to actually be read and sold potentially, but also mix in the business side of things. AI (Post 6)

 My thoughts on AI would be on the good side, however I do believe that we should not gloss over the possibilities of how AI can negatively impact us. For the good side, I believe that AI can be beneficial for humanity because it can pretty much automate a lot of what people usually do. The era of automation is starting already, as there are stores that do not have a single employee in it and are completely digital. The only thing that a person might do in the store is check for maintenance to ensure that the orders are going through or if the security cameras are working as they should be. AI can also uncover footage that could be seen as too low quality. For example, there have been YouTube videos that are quite low resolution, such as 144p. At that quality, the viewer would just see a bunch of pixels and blur.
